Alyssa Reid aka Spanner didn't get a lot of time in the comics, so we took a few liberties with her unseen life outside the pages of Marvel Comics. This is a "wordless" story because there wasn't much need to say anything. Alyssa wasn't engaging a battle alongside allies, this was a kind of internal struggle. We didn't appreciate her vague dismissal in the comics, so we offered a bit of optimism for her future.
Just to remind everyone, I don't own Spanner, she's copyright Marvel Comics. This project was purely for harmless entertainment.

Most elastic characters have incredible resilience to physical and a few energy attacks, but Spanner was in rough shape after her team's fight with Nucleus, carried away by medics like so much stretched-out hose. An elastic body still has limits, after all, and they're not impervious to pain or exertion. Who know what might result if the body couldn't absorb excessive strain.
