For

earlier this year I created a set of 4 illustrations for his commissioned FGE Project (Forgotten Girls of Elasticity), and he was kind enough to let me post copies to my own gallery. A spotlight on 4 select characters from either the Marvel or DC universe with some variant of elastic powers, that had short-lived appearances.

Rubbermaid was another X-Men family relation, a young student called Andrea Margulies with the Alpha Squadron team of trainees at Xavier's Institute. Despite the suggested nuance that her powers resembled the resilience and strength of rubber, her elastic properties suggested she was more adept at changing her body or limbs into different forms, and extend herself to varying thinness.
As Almond once commented, of all these 4 girls, Andrea's personality seemed to receive the most treatment. She endured quite alot as a young teen, falling for her first young crush, a fellow attendee at the Institute, and enduring his loss as well. I am not privvy to all the details of her life, but she was witness to --and participated in-- quite a few incidents at the school before the dreaded "M-Day" event removed her powers.
That was bad enough, but in my mind the real tragedy was the fatal explosion that claimed her soon after that event, where her previous elasticity might have saved her life.

My own copy is not as high-quality as Almond077's, so here's a link to the larger version in his gallery:

Obvious Disclaimer: I'd like to be very clear that I don't own the character in this picture, this is copyright Marvel Comics. I only borrowed the likeness for this fun little romp down memory lane.
More importantly, please do not repost this anywhere without contacting Almond or myself first. I'd prefer that you link any postings back to Almond's gallery, to whom the ownership belongs. Thanks!
