Bubblegum Jane. A character for a story I'm working on. She's a hero with stretching and shapeshifting abilities. This was a test to see how the costume would look with and without a hood. Boring, standing profile.

The name has alot of suggestion to it, a little psychodelic tease, a little "questionable content" perhaps, and a very bouncy and cheery outlook that's "tongue in cheek". I've been told the initials BJ have some suggestive connotation or another as well.

More to follow.

Beautiful! Easily one of the most brilliant costume designs for an elastic character I've encountered. Ever since Tony Daniel redid Gemini's costume for the main "Teen Titans" book, I've noticed that striking color lines on a costume lend great dynanism to stretches (the same with the animated Madame Rouge and her banded boots, belts, and gloves). This one takes the cake, though, in its marvelous simplicity. Well done!

And, just to throw my hat (hood?) into the ongoing debate, I'm going to take the minority position. The hood is more striking, it lends more swirls and lines to any full-body stretches, and it's more practical when engaged in fisticuffs to keep one's hair tied back and out of one's field of vision. Pro-hood for me.

I love this character design, well done! And if I were to choose, it would be without the hood ... however, the hood gives the character a striking uniqueness among the elastic characters out there! :)

Both versions are excellent. Personally I'd keep both options open.

Long hair can be a liability when fighting and so the hood could be an indicator of how seriously she takes her mission/opponent.

Two-bit thug? No threat, no hood.

Her "arch-nemesis"? On comes the hood.

Yeah, I like.

I just need to figure out where she keeps the hood when she's not wearing it... 9.9

You know, jnovi, that's exactly my thoughts. I don't know if the costume will change much, but I definitely anticipate hairstyles a-go-go.

I've always wondered with stretchy powers, could girls just change their hairdo with concentration? Or would they have problems gumming up the scissors?

Hee. Wonderful thoughts all.

Both, with regards to hairdos. It seems to depend on the artist and the exact bounds of the characters powers. For instance, the animated Teen Titans Madame Rouge can change her hairdo at will; then again, she can do prehensile hair if she really feels like it. While Elastigirl from the Incredibles apparently has no control over her hair, and it appears to not even be stretchy.

Either way, I'd make a decision and stick with it. There's no major convention that you'll be breaking.
